Our Jaguar Trade Assessment Featured in Mongabay
Our rapid assessment of the trade and trafficking of jaguars is helping tell a bigger story, this time featured in Mongabay’s coverage of wildlife trafficking.
In a recent article covering the seizure of a jaguar kept illegally as a pet in Honduras, Mongabay drew on our analysis to place the case in context: at least 431 jaguars have been documented in the illegal trade globally between 2016 and 2025.
We’re encouraged to see CatByte’s work referenced in this way, and we hope this analysis continues to inform future research and investigative efforts.
